Chilli, soy and sesame beef stir fry




  • 500g lean beef, sliced in thin strips
  • 2 Tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 zucchini
  • 1 red capsicum
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 bunch pak choy
  • 1 large brown onion, sliced thinly
  • Marinade
  • 1 teaspoon dried chilli flakes
  • 1/4 cup salt reduced soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed






  • Prepare marinade in a bowl.
  • Add beef strips to marinade, toss to coat. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  • Add 1 Tablespoon of oil to wok, heat over medium-high heat.
  • Stir fry beef in batches, until browned and place in a bowl.
  • Heat the other Tablespoon of oil, add onion, cook until softened.
  • Add zucchini, capsicum, mushrooms to wok, stir fry until tender.
  • Add beef to wok again and combine.
  • Add pak choy and stir fry until leaves are wilted.
  • Serve with brown rice or rice noodles and a sprinkle of toasted sesame seeds.
